The first step is to set up your free Poe account. You can sign up at https://www.poe.com – it only takes a few minutes to get started. Once logged in, “Create Bot” to get started.

1. Name your bot (Handle*)- keep it simple so it’s easy to identify later.

2. Add an Image or Avatar (Optional) so it has some personality. Don’t worry about getting this perfect, you can edit at any time.

3. Select a Base Bot*

Use dropdown arrow to select your bot.  Official is Free – Subscriber Access is not. Image and Text bots are available. CHATGPT, Anthropic, Gemini and More!

4. Add Response” to define how your bot will respond when someone chats with it. I would suggest keeping the first response friendly by having it greet the user, such as “Hello! What can I help you with?”
